Michael Tensel

Michael Tensel April 17, 1946 - November 24, 2015 Michael Tensel passed away at the age of 69, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Mike was born in Pocatello, Idaho on April 17, 1946 to Patricia Roylance. He was the eldest of six brothers. He graduated from Pocatello High School in 1965. Mike met and married Judy Fleming in Kelly, Wyoming on April 29, 1966. Mike and Judy had three children together; Brenda, Sean, and Michael. Mike worked at Simplot for 35 years and retired in 2001. He owned and operated the Tang Soo Do Karate Studio where he was a black belt instructor for over 25 years and mentored numerous karate students. Mike enjoyed spending time with his family and friends boating, camping, fishing, water and snow skiing, hunting and yearly trips to Mazatlan, Mexico. During his retirement he spent countless hours at Seagull Bay camping and boating at American Falls Reservoir. He was an active member of the Empties Motorcycle Club and had served as the President and Vice President of the club over the years. Mike is survived by his brothers; Randy, Don, Kasy and Danny Peterson. His three children; Brenda (Martin) Peace, Sean Tensel, and Michael (Cheri) Tensel . Mike had seven grandchildren; Louis (Audrey) Mickey, Danny D. Sholes, Mykol (Brock) Grose, Keyara, Taya, Kayden and Addison Tensel and two great-grandchildren; Liam and Clara Mickey. Mike was preceded in death by his parents Patricia and Floyd Roylance, his brother Jack Peterson and his uncles John and Gary Cummings. Mike's funeral service will be held at University Bible Church, 4700 North Philbin Rd, Chubbuck, Idaho, on Saturday, Nov. 28, at 2:00pm. Following the service there will be a procession led by the Empties MC following the service to the Celebration of Life held at Brenda Peace's home at 2445 South 2nd, Pocatello, Idaho. Guests are requested to bring your favorite drinks and food to share.
