Udene Elsen Obituary
Udene Elsen, 92, Pocatello, died peacefully Monday afternoon, November 23rd in her home surrounded by her daughters and grand-daughters.
She was born June 26th, 1928 in Leamington, Utah to Les and Margie Walker.
She married Tom Elsen on June 26th, 1946 in Pocatello. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on April 13th, 1965.
Udene worked at Farmers Insurance in the early sixties in the filing department and eventually worked her way up to supervisor.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings over her many years of service.
Udene, along with Tom, were temple workers in the Idaho Falls Temple for several years.
Udene had an active life and loved being outdoors. She and Tom with their family often went camping, hunting, fishing, and backpacking. They loved being on the water and spent many weekends in the summers at Seagull Bay Yatch Club in their boat as well as many trips to Jackson Lake, a favorite family vacation. They also enjoyed snowmobiling and skiing during the winter months. Udene loved gardening, quilting with her best friend, Ester, and most of all, spending time with her family. Many of these activities and hobbies are enjoyed by her girls, grandkids, and great-grandkids.
Udene is survived by her 3 daughters; Lezlie (Russ Doty) Aller, Idaho Falls, Debra (Leonard Higgins) Armatage, Kleis Morris, both of Pocatello; Seven grandchildren, Jodi, Sean, Brett, Brooke, Teagan, McKenzie, and Brandon; 29 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, and many aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Udene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Tom, and a sister, Kleis.
Graveside services are scheduled for Monday, Nov 30th at 1pm in the Mountain View Cemetery (Section 38E) with Brother Bob Thomas conducting.
Memorial in Udene’s memory may be given to The National Breast Cancer Foundation.
