RayLene Tanner Obituary

RayLene Kendall Tanner passed away peacefully on December 13, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.

RayLene was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She made sure that everyone was welcome and felt loved in her presence. RayLene was born the youngest child to Arnold and Genevieve Kendall on July 7, 1950. She was raised in Aberdeen, Idaho. While attending high school at Aberdeen she met the love of her life, Bob Tanner. They were married on April 12, 1968 at her parents’ home. The couple lived in Aberdeen for a short period of time and then moved to Pocatello to their house up Mink Creek. It was here that they began their family. They then moved to American Falls where they had their last child, raised horses, and raced cars. Bob and RayLene were blessed with four daughters. In 1983, the couple moved to Clyde Park, Montana. After spending 10 years away from her beloved Idaho, they returned to Inkom, Idaho in 1990, where they have spent the last 30 years.

RayLene stayed home to raise her children and was a wonderful “domestic engineer”. She cared deeply for her family and was there for anyone who needed her. RayLene loved to quilt, embroidery, crochet, play pinochle and play games on her iPad. But she loved spending time with family and friends most of all. She lived a full life raising her spirited daughters and spending time with family and friends at the horse track and Pocatello Speedway.

RayLene is preceded in death by her father Arnold Kendall; her mother Genevieve Hope Kendall; her sisters Lila Lucille Kendall and Clarice Armstrong; and her brother Doyle Kendall. She is survived by her husband of 53 years Bob Tanner; her daughters Karalee (Rob) Reinhardt, Deana (Travis) Holt, Deon (Chris) Matimba, Danielle (Courtney) Turner; her brother Larry (Cora) Kendall; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and her many nieces and nephew.

There will be a celebration of RayLene’s life on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 801 N. Rapid Creek, in Inkom, Idaho at 11am. A luncheon will be served after the ceremony. We would love for everyone to share their memories at this time.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.cornelisonfh.com
