Randall J Olson

Randall J. Olson of Beaver Damn AZ. Died October 17, 203 in St. George Ut. He passed peacefully during a "snap" - his word for form more than a snooze, but not quite a nap.

Randall was born April 7, 1939, in Preston, Idaho to parents Brigham Edward Olson and Vera Barfuss Olson, joining an older brother Daryl, later came sisters, Rae Lee, Nadine and denise.

He grew up on a small farm in Virginia, Idaho, attended Downy Grade school, Downey High School, and graduated May 22, 1957, from Marsh Valley H.S.

Randall attended U of I in Moscow, Idaho, for about two years. He then enlisted in the navy, he served for 4 years, part of which was on the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk. Upon returning to Virginia, ID, he worked at Simplot, swing shift, and attended ISU Vo-Tech. He earned a degree in Electrical Engineering, and then was hired as a civilian employee at Hill Airforce Base. He spent many working years in Okinawa, Japan, at Kadena Air Force Base, when he returned, he came to Pocatello to help care for his mother and 'grudgingly' her yard. He did a great job at both.

For the past seventeen years he has lived in Beaver Dam AZ. He enjoyed all sports, bt college basketball was his favorite, Gonzaga was his team. He enjoyed reading, crosswords, and sudoku puzzles.

Randall is survived by his sisters, Rae Lee Winn of Salt Lake City, Utah, Denise (Lynn) Cornelison of Pocatello, Idaho. Five nieces and two nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Daryl, sister Nadine, and brother-in-law Jay Winn.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 28th at 2 PM in the Downey City Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1-1:45 PM in the Downey LDS Ward Building, 310 E Center St, Downey, ID 83234.
