Patricia Ann Mirabella has ‘gone to her great reward’. She has joined a happy party of fellow family and friends; the cocktails are flowing, and the bonfires are burning. Oh, the stories that will be told.
Patti was born on April 26, 1940, in Cheyanne, Wyoming to Vernal and Marie (Calvert) Bloom. She was the middle sister to older brother, Robert, and younger brother, Michael. The happy family moved to Pocatello, Idaho. Patti attended Irving Junior High School, graduated from Pocatello High School in 1958 and went on to get her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Idaho State University. She worked at State Hospital South and Region 6 Mental Health Department.
On August 13th, 1959, Patti married Harry Lewis and in February of 1962, they were blessed with a perfect baby boy, Eric Max Lewis. Although the marriage ended, Patti picked herself up and back in the saddle she went. On April 26th, 1966, she married Ivan Mirabella and in October of 1969, they were blessed with a happy baby girl, Maryha (Amy) Mirabella. The marriage between Patti and Ivan did not last, but she did finally meet her 4-wheeling rodeo hero, Duke Anderson. They spent their retirement years traveling between Pocatello, Idaho; Quartzsite, Arizona; and Mackay, Idaho.
Patti enjoyed horseback riding, camping, fishing, reading, and riding her 4-wheeler, “Red”- she rode headphones in and music up. She had the voice of an angel, never missing a chance to doodle-dee-doo, or sing a made-up ditty about her new shoes, any actual song sung was full vibrato, usually outside and on a deck. She was known to never pass by a yard sale, collecting trinkets and treasures, and books, oh so many books, and not a fake flower bouquet was left behind. She spent time in Quartzsite and Mackay playing cards, riding her pony, “Red”, and enjoying bonfires and cocktail hours with so many lovely friends.
She is preceded in death by both sets of grandparents; her parents, Vernal and Marie; her older brother Robert; her rodeo hero, Duke; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; her beloved fur babies Coalie, Suzy, Tippy, Cornelius, Emmet, and Gus. She leaves behind her son, Eric, his wife and appointed family saint, Lory, and beautiful granddaughter, Ashley; her daughter, Amy and Amy’s dude, Monty; and her fur baby, Gracie; She also leaves behind her smart-ass brother, Michael, and his amazing wife, Geri, and beautiful nieces, Mikel and Marci; and devoted nephew, Tom.
Through heartbreak and tragedy, Patti chose to live her life happy and full. To her friends and family, her loss is profound. Our hearts are shattered, and the void that has been left that will never be filled. We find peace in each other’s company, sharing memories and laughter, and knowing that she has earned her great reward and is now riding her 4-wheeler pain free, doodle-dee-dooing- headphones in, music up.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to two of her favorite causes Bannock Humane Society or Pocatello Animal Shelter.
We would also like to thank all people at Encompass Health who slipped in and out of our lives during the last two years. These compassionate caregivers were detrimental, and we could not have made it without them by our side. Robyn, Lisa, Remmy, Brandi, and Heather you became a part of our family, and we can never thank you enough.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.cornelisonfh.com
