Norma Whitworth Obituary

Norma Jean (Tiede) Whitworth, 79, passed away at Ashley Manor in Pocatello, ID restfully on August 7, 2022

Norma Jean was welcomed into the world June 7, 1943 to Ottelia Buerkle and Edward Tiede, in North Fredonia, Dakota. She grew up on her parent’s farm outside of Kulm, North Dakota with her brother Willard and her two sisters, Hattie and Adeline. She spent most of her time out on the farm helping her dad with all the animals needs. She loved the farm.

She was later diagnosed as a type 1 diabetic. Norma Jean never let her diabetics get the best of her. She lived to the fullest that she could.

Norma Jean stayed in North Dakota until making a journey to Southern Idaho. She later was blessed with two sons, Merlin and two years later, Mark. She settled down in Twin Falls, ID. There she became a successful seamstress.

She met her husband Arden Whitworth in 1979 where they then moved to Inkom, ID and became a blended family. They continued to live in Inkom for another 40 years.

Norma Jean continued to build a seamstress business in Inkom. She was well known in the Inkom community for her work. She could fix just about everything and anything when it came to sewing, very skilled in all she did with clothes.

Norma Jean really enjoyed sewing, crafts, and baking. She was so creative with her ideas to make something. Though her husband was the hands behind it all, she was the brains.

Norma Jean will be deeply missed by her sons Merlin (Regina) Tiede, Germany; Mark (Tammy) Tiede, Montana; her siblings, sister Hattie Fandrich, Colorado; sister, Adeline Presser, North Dakota. Along with many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Norma Jean will be reunited with her husband, Arden, father Edward, mother Ottelia, and her brother Willard, along with aunts, uncles, and friends.

Her Celebration of Life will take place at Cornelison Funeral Home, Pocatello at 11AM Saturday, September 17, 2022. A brief visitation before the service will start at 10:30AM.
