Marion Jean Boernke Sprawls, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on August 31, 2023, in Pocatello, Idaho, at the age of 92. Jean was born on June 10, 1931, to Leslie and Mary Boernke in Wausau, Wisconsin.
Jean is survived by her loving daughters, Susan Sprawls McDavid and Mary Sprawls Byers, both of Pocatello, Idaho, and her son, David Duane Sprawls of Throckmorton, Texas. She was predeceased by her husband, Aubrey Duane Sprawls, and a special friend, Bill Cook, who held a special place in her heart.
Jean's legacy lives on through her four cherished grandchildren: John Byers, Ryan Byers, Matthew McDavid (deceased), and Jacob McDavid, and her great-grandchildren Lucas Byers and Hailey Byers.
Jean earned her bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Wisconsin Madison. She specialized in working with children affected by cerebral palsy in Beaumont, Texas, where her compassionate care and expertise made a significant impact on the lives of young individuals and their families.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Jean had a passion for the arts. She was a skilled artisan in the realm of antique furniture restoration. Her talent extended to the art of quilting, where her creations served as tangible testaments to her creativity and love for her craft. She shared these talents with her family and friends, leaving behind beautiful pieces that will be cherished for generations to come. Her love of travel lead her throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe.
