Marilyn Smith

Marilyn Smith was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on February 23th 1952, the daughter of Veon G. and Clyda C. Smith. She passed away in Pocatello, Idaho, on May 6th, 2021, after a lengthy, courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer.
Marilyn is survived by her son, Daniel Smith and his wife Vickie, their children Megan, Elena, Joshua, and Samuel; her sister Barbara (Bob) Kollmar; her brothers Veon (Sonja) Smith, Gerald (Lori) Smith, and Evan (Nadia) Smith, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her partner Bill Rash, her sister Gladys Marchant, and her parents.
Marilyn was well-known in the Pocatello art community, and her creative spirit will be sorely missed. She also was involved in pet rescue and had to say good-bye to beloved cat Siam just one week ago.
We want to thank Hospice for their excellent care, especially Natalie and Robin. We also want to thank the numerous friends who stepped in to provide respite to her family and who helped to keep her spirits uplifted.
A celebration of life is being planned for a future date.
