Loretta Ruth McFarland, 63, passed away January 17, 2022 with her husband and daughters by her side. Loretta was born February 8, 1958 in her family farmhouse in Firth Idaho. Her grandmother Beccie was her “doctor” and helped her mother Ruth bring her into this world on a sunny winter day.
She grew up in the desert outside of Blackfoot until 1972 when her family moved to their new home in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. There she attended Marsh Valley High School and met the love of her life, Kim. They were married in June 1977. Even after 44 years of marriage, Loretta said that was the happiest day of her life. In May of 1982 they were blessed with the birth of their oldest daughter, Sara. Soon after in November of 1983 they completed their family with the birth of their twin daughters, Hanna and Heidi.
Loretta worked for many years for her loving Pollard family as a Secretary for Tee Pee Advertising in Pocatello, Idaho. After she retired, she went to work with her three daughters in their floral shop, Busy Bee’s Floral, in Blackfoot. She was so proud of her daughters and overjoyed to work alongside them.
In her free time Loretta enjoyed many hobbies. Some of her favorites were gardening, camping, playing the piano, playing cards, shooting billiards, shopping, motorcycle rides, and long drives. Loretta was so full of love and happiness and easily made friends wherever she went. She was treasured by so many family members and friends. Her laughter, kind heart, and loving ways will be deeply missed by all.
Loretta is survived by her husband Kim of Pocatello, daughters Sara (Shane) Rupe of Blackfoot, Hanna (Danny) Bernal of Pocatello, Heidi (DJay) Steele of Blackfoot, granddaughters McKenzee and Brooklyn, and one grandson Jordan. Her Mother and Father Ruth and David Losee, siblings Loren (Debbie) Losee, Lavell (Bridget) Losee, LaDawn (Dennis) Brinkmann, Jerry (JoCarol) Losee, David (Danny) Losee, Ricky McFarland, Terry McFarland, Cheryl (Scott) Rogers, Diane McFarland, Jan (Al) Palomo, Timothy Peterson, Hyrum Peterson, LaWina Peterson, Terisa (Jesus) Chavero, Arlin Peterson, and Lori Peterson.
It was Loretta’s wish to be cremated. Her Family will hold a Celebration of Life in her Honor later this Summer. Arrangements are under the direction of Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N 15th Ave. Pocatello. Condolences may be sent online at www.cornelisonfh.com 208-232-0542
