Linda Manwaring Obituary

Linda Lee Manwaring was born April 28, 1949, at the LDS Hospital in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She died April 6, 2023, in Pocatello, Idaho. Her parents are Elwood and Ella Neilson Manwaring. She was raised on a farm in Groveland, attending elementary school there and then graduating from Blackfoot High School in 1968. Linda attended Ricks College for a year and a half.

Linda married Weldon Hill on January 16, 1970, in the Idaho Falls Temple. They went to Rexburg, where Weldon attended Ricks College, and Linda was pregnant with their first child, Chrystal. After moving back to Blackfoot, they bought a home on Highland Dr. This was where they enjoyed living and raising their family for the next several years as Jesse, Michael, and Cory joined their family. They were married for 14 years.

Linda loved decorating her home and working in her garden. Linda loved music, whether singing, dancing, or playing the piano. She could play the piano by ear, just listening and replicating the tunes. Linda loved to draw, write poems, knit, and crochet. She loved to cook and put in extra effort to make the kids' birthday cakes fun and special. She always had a way of making her children know they are loved and making them feel special.

Linda made many friends throughout her life as she worked in housekeeping at the hospital & nursing home, and the Riverside Inn. She also worked at Dawn Enterprises. Linda was always a champion for the underdog. Her experiences when she was younger made her a fighter to help others where she could. She accepted others readily, no matter their differences. Her favorite pleasures were, first, making people laugh, and the second was Mountain Dew with a Kit Kat candy bar. She also enjoyed watching old Westerns on TV. Her favorite was Bonanza and Wagon Train. Linda has always had a deep love, respect, and connection to the Native American culture.

Linda was preceded in death by two brothers, Hal and Terry Lynn Manwaring, a sister Caryle Jean Hansen. Her parents, O. Elwood and Ella Neilson Manwaring, and grandson, Jeffrey James Braman-Hill. She is survived by her brother Russel (Louise) Manwaring and a sister Kathy (Rett) Hubbard and her children, Chrystal (Guy) Smith, St. George, UT; Jesse (Linette) Hill, Blackfoot, ID; Michael (Amanda) Hill, Cedar City, UT; and Cory (Kristen) Hill, Hyde Park, UT. She has 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
