Lenore Petersen Obituary
Lenore Petersen passed away at her home August 5, 2022 surrounded by her family. Lenore was 93 at the time of her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents Art & Thelma Hancock, her husband Melvin “Pete” Petersen, and her son Rick (Sandy) Petersen.
She is survived by her three beloved sons; Steve, Doug, and Greg Petersen, various grandchildren as well as many great grandchildren and even great-GREAT grandchildren, her two sister’s Donna & Sandra, many nieces & nephews, and great nieces & nephews.
Lenore was a Christmas baby born at home. Throughout her life she had so many interests. She loved singing and traveling with The Sweet Adelines. She held a strong 168-average while she league-bowled, sometimes she played up to three different leagues a week! Lenore was also an avid shopper. There were times that the operators at HSN and QVC knew her by name/voice. She was also very talented when it came to cooking, knitting, crocheting, and painting. She was always making something for someone or something. Lenore loved traveling and learning the history of all the sites she visited. She was a member of the Pocatello Senior Center where she served on the Board of Directors and volunteered as a Cashier for lunches. Lenore was also a member of the Portneuf Grange for 12-years, where she served on the Executive Committee for 6-years and was voted Granger of the year in 2015. Lenore was a kind and generous soul, and she will be missed greatly by many.
As per her wishes, there will be a Celebration of Life at the Portneuf Grange Hall (440 N Main, Pocatello, ID 83204) October 1, 2022 from 1-4pm. Her family appreciates the calls and texts of sympathy.
