Layce Whitworth

Layce Whitworth was born February 7, 1968 to Steven Whitworth and Lois Gail Partner Whitworth. He passed away from pancreatic cancer on May 5 2023 at the age of 55.

In his early life, Layce was involved with the rodeo riding bulls, and team roping. He won many trophies, and buckles riding bulls.

He also had a love for singing, and had an ear for music he could listen to a song pick up the guitar and figure out what cord it was in.

In 1995 Layce met the love of his life, Debra Jean Pollard Strang and they were married June 20, 1996.

Layce and Debbie went on lots of adventures and experienced God's hands in the beauty of this country. Layce loved being outdoors and around rivers, streams and lakes. He basked in the smell of the pine trees in the air after a rain storm. He loved to go to North Fork and float down the Salmon River in his drift boat. He loved to fish and just sit by the fire and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Layce is a Nashville recording artist, a true country singer. He enjoyed going to Nashville and being in the studio recording new songs for people to hear. He thrived doing concerts and sharing his talent and wanted to do more. His life long dream was to hear his music on the radio.

Layce leaves behind his wife of 26 years Debbie and 2 brothers, Kash Evans (Tammy) and Cory Whitworth (Ramona) and mother Lois Armstrong. He has two boys, Steven Whitworth, and Wade Casey Whitworth.

He was a stepdad to Debbie's kids, Dustin Strang, Derrick Strang, Dallas Strang (deceased) , Deanna Johnson (Kendall), Dana Carter (Seth), Desiree Romano (Nick) and many grand children.

He was a strong Christian man and enjoyed reading the Bible and encouraged others to do the same.

Layce is preceded in death by his father, Steven Whitworth, step father Jerry Armstrong, niece Micki Mortensen and many other family members.

Funeral arrangements are by Corneilson funeral home 431, N. 15th Pocatello, Idaho.
A viewing will be held Monday, May 8 at 7 PM. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 9th at 11 AM with a visitation an hour prior. Interment will take place at the Inkom cemetery following services.

We will be enjoying a meal together at Sizzler in honor of Layce (his favorite restaurant) after the burial service. Please understand that each guest will be paying for a meal of their choice. We hope to see you there.
