John L. Tripp, 78, passed away May 26th, 2022 at his home in Inkom following a brief but fierce battle with cancer. He is preceded in death by his parents Fred Tripp and Agnes Hawkins, and sisters Linda (Russ) Orgill and Mary (Gerald) Wright.
John was born in Pocatello and spent most of his life in the automotive repair industry. He was one of the founding members of J&J Auto Body as well as the owner of Customs Classics, both in Pocatello. He was also an oversized load escort and continued that occupation until his death.
John was an avid fisherman and had an amazing ability to fabricate and invent various tools and gadgets. He built several boats, cars, furniture, and many other devices that continuously amazed his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife Cheryl, children Johnny (Lindia) Tripp and Cindy (Jorge) Perez, and several grandchildren.
Veteran services will be held at the Idaho State Veteran’s Cemetery in Blackfoot at 10:00 am on August 12th, followed by a Celebration of Life fishing expedition on August 13th, details of which will be provided at a later time.
