John (Johnny) David Buchanan was born June 26, 1963, in Covina, California where he graduated from Royal Oaks High school. A couple of years after graduating, John moved to Pocatello, Idaho.
John attended Idaho State University. John moved to Boise in the spring of 1990 where he worked as an auto mechanic until he moved back to Pocatello in 2012.
John passed away suddenly on July 5, 2023, at his home in Pocatello. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Jessica (Evan) Pfeifer, grandsons Ryley and Aiden Pfeifer, his Mother Jill Frederick, his sister Bonnie Buchanan, his stepmother Cecilia Buchanan, and former wife Karen Buchanan.
John loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. Many evenings after work you could find him on the Boise River with a pole in his hand. Or on weekends in the boat on Arrow Rock, Lucky Peak, Cascade Reservoir or American Falls Reservoir. He loved football and Hockey. His favorite teams were Green Bay Packers and Idaho Steelheads.
There will be a Celebration of Life on August 26, 2023, from 3 - 5 pm at the Willowbrook Club House 5601 Willow Lawn Garden City, Idaho 83714.
