In Loving Memory of LaRue Joan Shurtliff
LaRue “Joan” Shurtliff, 79, of Pocatello Idaho, passed away peacefully at her home on April 2, 2021 with family by her side.
Joan was born in Pocatello, Idaho on April 26, 1941 to Audrey May Kinney and Maurice Norton Kinney. Joan graduated from Pocatello High School in the class of 1959.
On July 22, 1959 LaRue Joan Kinney married Donald Jeston Shurtliff in the Idaho Falls Temple. Don and Joan have 5 children, 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Joan retired from the Pocatello Public Library where she worked as a technical assistant. She enjoyed spending time at the family’s property in Island Park and taking road trips through Yellowstone Park and to the Oregon and Washington Coasts.
Joan is survived by her children Jerry Shurtliff (Shanna), Carrie Shurtliff (Kim), Lori Hairston (Al), Jonathan Shurtliff (Jennifer), William Shurtliff (Kim), sisters Elaine Stec of Eugene Oregon and Sharon Scott of Vancouver, Washington and brother Donald Olsen, of Orange County, California.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband Don, mother Audrey, father Maurice, brothers Clayton, Ralph, Gordon and Glen, and sisters Carol and Jean.
Graveside services will be held Wed., April 7, at 10 am in the Mountain View Cemetery, Section 53 East. Visitation will held one hour prior in the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.cornelisonfh.com
