Jerry Moore Obituary
Jerry Michael Moore, 73, of Pocatello, Idaho, peacefully passed away on May 18th, 2023 with his wife Kay and daughter Beth by his side after an unfortunate battle with Alzheimer's.
Born in Augusta, Georgia to Willard Owen and Gladys Hilda Moore, Jerry was an amazing athlete at Campbell High School in Smyrna, Georgia where he graduated. He was the varsity Quarterback in football and his school won the state championship his senior year. He also excelled as the catcher for Campbell's baseball team. After he graduated, Jerry enlisted in the Air National Guard and landed his first job at Lockheed Martin.
In 1977 Jerry met his wife, Kay and became stepfather to her two children, Lanie and Trey. He had his biological daughter, Beth a year later in 1978.
Jerry put family first, always, and was a dedicated and proud father to his daughter Beth, who became a professional Ballerina. He and his wife Kay, relocated to Pocatello, Idaho in 2007 to help Beth and her husband Sergiu with their two boys, while they operated their highly recognized ballet studio.
Jerry was a supportive and loving father and grandfather who developed a special bond with his first grandson Ian Michael (named after him). He was the salt of the earth, genuine and a true southern gentleman who was known for his prolific one-liners.
He spent most of his retirement years driving his grandson Ian to and from his sports activities until his unfortunate diagnosis with Alzheimer's.
Jerry was predeceased by his father Bill and leaves behind his wife Kay, daughter Beth, her husband Sergiu, grandsons Ian and August; daughter Lanie, her husband Jim and grandson Baxter; son Trey, his wife Maddy and grandson Lex; his 95 year old mother Gladys Hilda and sister Laura and her husband Eddie and many nieces and nephews; beloved pets Finn and Boogie
