James Cardell Obituary

James Forrest Cardell, age 66, of St. Anthony, Idaho passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 14, 2020.
Affectionately known as James, Jim, Jimmy, and Papa Cardell - Jim was born June 13, 1953 in Chester, Florida to John Wesley Cardell and Edna Lavan Cardell. He was raised in the Jacksonville Florida area and dearly loved his family and the ocean.
While serving in the Idaho-Montana LDS Mission he fell in love with the area and returned to work for the forest service. It was there that he met and married Rashell Mason in the Idaho Falls Temple on April 20, 1976. They raised a beautiful family of eight children and currently have 11 grandchildren.
Jim was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony of his Savior, Jesus Christ. Jesus was his "dearest friend" and he was always ready and willing to share the gospel with others.
He enjoyed being in the outdoors, camping, fishing and especially being with his beloved wife, kids and grandkids.
Jim is survived by his wife Rashell M. Cardell, daughters Annie (Emad) Cardell, Melissa Wiggins, Kristi King, and Kayleen Cardell - sons Michael Cardell, Jonathan (Rochelle) Cardell, Jason (Sunshine) Cardell, Jeffrey Cardell - a sister Kathleen (Bill) Zetterower, and mother-in-law Evelyn (Lynn) Mason-Neeley.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, father-in law Willis B. Mason, sisters Juanita and Virginia and brother Floyd.
The family gives special thanks to the nurses and all who helped Jim over the years. A small family ceremony will be held to honor his life.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.cornelisonfh.com
