James Adams Obituary

James Garner Adams, 86, Chubbuck, passed away, November 5, 2022.

Jim was born to Early Price and Bessie Mae Brewer Adams. He was born in Laona, Forest, Wisconsin and raised in Whiskey Creek on the outskirts of Orofino. He loved the Orofino mountains and fishing in Whiskey Creek. He married Rose Syvella Payne the 1st of August 1959 They were the parents of 7 children and 2 grand children. Clifford Jay, Virginia Michele, Kathryn Lee, Patricia Marie, Timothy James, Robert Darr, Paul Barton, and their two grand-children, Bobi Lee Papazian and Shasta Michele Drussel, raised as his own alongside the love of his life.

Jim worked at the JR Simplot Company for 40 years, retiring in 2003. He and Rose served many missions. They served several on the ShoBan Reservation. They also served in Ibadan, Nigeria and Bangkok, Thailand. They met many people they call friends and family.

He was born in a family of 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Norma Leone, Roger Winford, Delbert Jacob, Milly Jane, Robert Franklin, Madonna Marlene all of them proceeded him in death. He was a Korean War veteran.

He is survived by 17 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren. A daughter, Virginia Michele, and a grandson Robert Paul proceeded him in death. Jim was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a member of the Bringhurst Ward.

Jim will be remembered most for his lively stories and love for life. He had the biggest heart and the greatest ability to tell a story that will be remembered through generations. Jim had a sense of humor of his own, especially when it came to jokes about serving in the military or fighting that super non-fictitious bear that had no right trying to chase him off the edge of a cliff. He has also bred a very special brand of humor that is forever captured through numerous photos of him. His family has always loved him for it. Such a special person. Such a love for life and personality that is unmatched. This side of the world would not be the same without an existence as vibrant as Jim’s. Our lives feel much less vibrant without the love and sense of humor our Jim brought alongside it. We are so lucky to have him in our lives and part of our family. His legacy is felt through his children, his grandchildren, his great-grandchildren, and beyond. This family is so lucky to have had a presence as strong as his and a love as present.
