Forever in our Hearts
Jimy Gage Gentry
December 30, 1986
October 17, 2012
Gage was born on Tuesday, December 30, 1986. He was son to Wade and Staci Wheatley and a self-proclaimed “Momma’s Boy”.
Gage grew up with two brothers and a sister. He was the oldest and always in charge. He played hard, climbed every tree he could, teased his siblings non-stop, and lived life to the fullest. Gage met his true love, Jacque, when he was 25 and, truth be told, he may have fallen more in love with her one year old daughter, Eily. They married in August 2015, and Gage made vows to both of them. In March of 2019 they had beautiful baby Freya, then on October 15, 2021 he held his third baby girl, Kairee, for the first time. Gage was an extremely proud “Girl Dad” and took every opportunity to brag about his wife and his girls.
Gage loved to build things. He built a bunk bed for Eily when she was little, then when she got older, he modified it into a queen bed to look as if it were floating. He built a huge entertainment center for Jacque, along with a multitude of other honey-do projects. And he always looked forward to assembling all of Freya and Kairee’s toys and furniture. Gage had a knack for fixing things as well. If he didn’t know how to fix it, he would YouTube it. There was never a project too big or too small for him.
If he wasn’t busy covering himself and the house in sawdust, Gage was gaming with his friends. His love of gaming started young with his brother and best friend, Wes, on the Nintendo. He quickly redirected to teaching his younger siblings Chandi and Saxon how to lose gracefully, until he finally got his beloved PS5. His all-time favorite gamer though was Eily. In order to shorten the distance between them while he was away at work, they would game it up every chance they had.
It would be an injustice if we didn’t mention Gage’s greatest love outside of his family – football. He was an avid 49er’s fan and joined any fantasy football league that would take him, in addition to running his own. Football Sundays were his favorite days of the week.
With extreme sadness, Gage’s life-battery died on Sunday, October 17, 2021. He came into this world with his mom and he left this world with his mom by his side. From birth, Gage was a kind soul with a giant heart who never failed to spread love and joy with his contagious laugh and smile. We’ll find solace in remembering Gage’s witty nature and ability to make light of any situation with that same laugh and humor.
