Evelyn Gayle Young

Evelyn Gayle Young, 86, Menan, passed away, April 13, 2021. Evelyn was born
February 17, 1935 to Marlin Meltiar Fairchild and Celesta May Milburn. She graduated from Salmon High School. Throughout her life she was known as a wife, mother, professional seamstress, switchboard operator, doctor’s answering service, salesclerk, and research worker. Evelyn was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and the Wallowa County Handcrafters Guild and enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting, embroidery, crocheting, her family, including her many nieces and nephews. She was also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Evelyn was preceded in death by: her mother and father, Marlin Meltiar Fairchild & Celesta May Milburn Fairchild; brothers, Clarence Fairchild, Chris Fairchild, and Harold Fairchild; sister, Harriet James; son, Brett Dyment; husbands, Kenneth Lee Dyment, Vernon Darrow Lynch, and Rulon Richard Young; grandsons, Sean and Jeffrey Ryan; and step-child, Rulon Young Jr.
She is survived by: children, Carrie (Dan) Ryan, Scott Dyment, Todd Dyment, and Warren (Stephanie) Fairchild; step-children, Gary (Nancy) VanAusdle, Kathy (Darias) Bisson, David VanAusdle, Dorene (Erick) Hoffman, Nichole VanAusdle, Ty (Ben) Garechana, and Kathy Young; grandchildren, Daniel J. Ryan, Phillip (Hisaka) Dyment, Ryan Dyment, Kayla Dyment, Alexandra Dyment, Tyler Dyment, Austin Dyment, Brayden Dyment, Cameron Dyment, Ryan Fairchild, and Brianna Fairchild; step-grandchildren, Kelly Jensen, Shana McKenzie, Chris Ryan, Ben Ryan, Molly Johnson, Kacie Parker, Kristina Anderson, Paula Tubbs, Marisa Garechana, and Ciera Garechana; great grandchildren, Jayda Ryan, Kenshin Dyment, Shinsaku Dyment, and Shogo Dyment; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held Saturday, April 17th at 10:30am in the Menan LDS Ward, 689 N. 3600 E., Menan, Idaho. Family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Burial will take place at 4pm in the Salmon Cemetery, Salmon, Idaho. A live-stream and recording will be available on the Cornelison Funeral Home Facebook page.
