In 1960 the family returned to San Diego, where Charles ministered at the First Church of God.

Charles went to be with the Lord June 16, 1990. Esther lived in San Diego County until 2003 when she moved to Pocatello, ID. To be with her son Floyd and his wife Kathy and the rest of the family.
