Douglas Melvin Petersen
Born March 12, 1955, passed away peacefully October 20, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones.
Doug was born in Ogden UT raised and died in Pocatello, Idaho. He was the 2nd of 4 sons of Melvin and Lenore Petersen.
He was vibrant and adventurous. He loved everything about the great outdoors. He was in his element storm chasing, star gazing, rock hunting, fishing, and hunting with his family and friends.
A carpet installer by trade, he also worked many years at the Pocatello Senior Center. Doug was a member and leader in the Pocatello Grange and a proud veteran of the US Army.
Doug loved deeply and created many important relationships throughout his life. All who knew him loved his quick wit, infectious laugh, and bright smile.
He was preceded in death by parents, Doug and Lenore Petersen, brother Rick Petersen, Kristy Walker, and Becky Hendrix.
Doug is survived by his brothers Greg and Steve Petersen, sons Gabe (Tiffany) Petersen, Ryan (Trish) Petersen, daughter Casie (Brandy) Adams and grandchildren Skyler, Brandon, Brittany, Joshua, Aaron, Kayla, Gwen, Trevor, Lonesome, James, Samantha, Kaelyn, Hunter and Tia. He was extremely proud of each of them.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.cornelisonfh.com
