In Loving Memory of Donald Jeston Shurtliff
Donald Jeston “Don” Shurtliff, 83, of Pocatello Idaho, passed away peacefully at his home on July 5, 2019. The last weeks of his life were spent peacefully at home surrounded by his extended family.
Don was born in Salmon Idaho on May 8, 1936 to Edith May Stewart and Jeston V. Shurtliff. The family later moved to Inkom, Idaho where Don graduated from Inkom High School in the class of 1954. Don enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a medic in Germany. Upon returning home he worked multiple jobs including 34 years for the Union Pacific Railroad.
On July 22, 1959 Don married LaRue Joan Kinney In the Idaho Falls Temple. Don and Joan have 5 children, 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Don is survived by his wife, Joan, his children Jerry Shurtliff (Shanna), Carrie Shurtliff (Kim), Lori Hairston (Al), Jonathan Shurtliff (Jennifer), William Shurtliff (Kim) and sisters Lenna Joy Ells and Edith Mae Wilde.
Don was preceded in death by his mother Edith, brother Keith Shurtliff, and sisters Erla Mae Warner and Mary Jean Duncan.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 10th at 11 am in the Mountain View Cemetery, Pocatello. Family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 am in the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Primary Children's Hospital.
