Chris Papapavlos Obituary
Chris G. Papapavlos, 53, passed away on November 17th, 2021, in Pocatello, Idaho.
Chris was born December 19th, 1967 to Gust and Athena Papapavlos in Pocatello, Idaho, where he grew up with his five siblings, Pete, Tina, Sophia, Tammy, and twin sister Mary-Ann. After the passing of his mother Athena, his father Gust married Evangelia Manolis, which brought four more children into the family – Spiro, Vasiliki, Vlasios and Thanasi.
Chris had skills in drywall and painting and had his own business for many years doing construction services. Chris was a free spirit who liked to chart his own path through life and find new adventures, wherever they may take him, which included spending time in parts of Oregon and Nevada.
Chris is survived by his stepmother, Evangelia K. Papapavlos, siblings Tina Papapavlos (Mountville, Pennsylvania), Sophia (Greg) Barkdull (Pocatello, Idaho), Tammy Meppen (Boise, Idaho), Mary-Ann (Scott) Harrison (Lovettsville, Virginia), Spiro (Roula) Manolis, (Astoria, New York), Vasiliki (Yiorgo) Mavronasou, (Megara, Greece), and Vlasios Manolis (Pocatello, Idaho), and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death is his father, Gust P. Papapavlos, his mother, Athena G. Papapavlos, his brother, Pete G. Papapavlos, step-brother, Tom Manolis, cousins Sophia Manolis, George P. Semons, and Maria Tsakrios, and Theo Andrew Tsakrios, Thea Effie Tsakrios, Theo Angelo Papapavlos and Theo Paul Semons.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 20th at 10am in the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church 518 N 5th Ave., Pocatello. Concluding services will be held at Mountain View Cemetery Section 52W. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, PO Box 4567 Pocatello, ID 83205.
