Barbara was born on the Joe and Ruby Eliason family homestead near Bancroft, Idaho on October 4, 1938. She was the only daughter, and had three older brothers: John B., Norrell, Gerald “Bud”, and Pete her younger brother. She attended school in Bancroft where she graduated from North Gem High School in 1956. During High School, she was a cheerleader, assistant editor of the school paper, participated in girls state, and various other activities. She attended Ricks College and graduated from BYU with a Bachelor of Science. She married Milo Dan Morrison in 1961 where they made their home in Pocatello, Idaho. They were blessed with 3 boys: Dave, Kent, and Eric.
Barbara was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in various ward and stake callings in Pocatello and later, Inkom. She was the ward organist for most of her life. Barbara was an avid member of the Pocatello Sweet Adelines barbershop chorus which was her hobby for the next 55 years. She was always very involved with the chorus and would make the trip to regional competitions every year and perform in the annual local show.
Barbara worked for 22 years as the Administrative Assistant to the Production Manager at the J.R. Simplot plant in Pocatello.
Before retiring she moved to the farm in Inkom, Idaho. Barbara enjoyed her daily visit by her four grandchildren, Kyler, Arden, India, and Clarissa when they were dropped off the school bus.
Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Bowman Eliason; father, Joseph Godfrey Eliason; son, Kent Milo Morrison; and brothers, John B. and Norrell Eliason. She is survived by her brothers, Gerald and Pete; sons, Dave (Tina) and Eric (Brook), her seven grandchildren, and one great grandson.
Barbara Eliason Morrison will be laid to rest Saturday, September 25, 2021 in Inkom. Her funeral will be held at the old church building, located at 801 North Rapid Cr. Rd, at 11am. A viewing will be held from 9:30am to 10:30am prior to the service with the interment following at the Inkom Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the Cornelison Funeral Home on 431 N. 15th Avenue in Pocatello from 6pm to 8pm Friday night September 24th 2021.
