Barbara Jean Kimbrel was born in Pocatello, ID on September 1, 1944 and passed away at home in Pocatello on May 3, 2022 in the loving care of her “Sweetie”, Tom. She was married to Thomas Kimbrel on October 8, 1966 and they had 5 children. A son Steven died as an infant, only two months old. Steven’s twin sister, Stacy Lewis 50 (Robert), resides in McKinney, TX. Other surviving children are Robbin Zahurak 53 (John) of Eagle, ID, David Kimbrel 49 (Rachel) of Troy, ID and Cynthia Meyers 43 (Robert) of Boise, ID. She was a grandmother with eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Muir and Betty Hahn. She was a housewife, homemaker and avid crafter. Her primary crafting interest was ‘primitive’ wood figures and decorations of many designs. Some of her creations were made as gifts, however, most were sold at local craft shows. Her latest craft interest was card making, such as Birthday Cards, Christmas Cards and special occasion cards. She was a Navy wife and enjoyed moving frequently, having lived in Long Beach, CA, Blackfoot, ID, Tacoma, WA, San Diego, CA, Orlando, FL, Virginia Beach, VA and finally Pocatello, ID for the past 37 Years. She leaves behind a legacy of many fun-filled family gatherings often involving baking, delicious meals, craft projects, shop till you drop, the infamous white cookie tin filled with various delicious cookies and special Christmas surprises. Barby’s love of the water having grown up water skiing in Island Park has transferred to her family as they all enjoy summer vacations on the water. She will be sorely missed and always remembered.
