Arlene Evans Obituary

Arlene K. Wilson Evans was born July 13th, 1945, the only daughter of Earl Raymond VanHouten & Mary Donna Ashton VanHouten. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on January 25, 2020 at the age of 74.
Arlene grew up in Pocatello and graduated from Pocatello High school in 1963. She was proud to be a member of the last class to graduate from Poky before Highland High opened. She married Jan Wilson and had two boys, Darren & Dirk. She and Jan opened a real estate company, Cedar Ridge Realty and enjoyed careers in real estate. They later divorced. She married Lee Evans in 1988 and enjoyed camping and running rivers and spending time with all their friends in Island Park for many years. Lee passed away in 2002 with Arlene by his side. Arlene worked for over 30 years at Pioneer Title. Arlene loved her career as an escrow officer and later manager of the Bannock county office. She always said that she “bleeds Pioneer blue”, and she did. Throughout her years in the real estate industry she received many awards, including, Idaho Realtor of the Year in 1985 and Greater Pocatello Association of Realtors Affiliate of the year in 2015.
She loved her work, but her boys were her pride and joy. Her son Dirk gave her her first grandson, Colton Wilson, and he became her pride and joy. When her son Darren married his wife, Shaunna, she inherited two more grandsons, Braden and Trevyn Loveland and she loved them just as much. Arlene loved Pocatello and especially the people of Pocatello. She was very proud to call Pocatello her home. She also loved the ISU Bengals and was a proud Bengal Booster for many years.
Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lee Evans, and her son Dirk Wilson. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Darren & Shaunna Wilson, her grandsons Colton Wilson and Braden & Trevyn Loveland and her fur baby Diezel.
As per Arlene’s request, there is no funeral, but a celebration of life. She wants this to be one hell of a party and it will be held, Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Juniper Hills Country Club, 6600 Bannock Hwy, from 4pm to 8pm.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.cornelisonfh.com
