Reda Benson Jenkins was the first child born of Emory and Ella Parker Benson on August 15th, 1916 in Newton, Utah. She passed away, April 13, 2018 in Pocatello, Idaho.
Reda was married to her beloved husband, Arnold Colin Jenkins, in 1934. They were later sealed for time and for all eternity in the Ogden Utah Temple in 1978.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved square dancing and would make her own dresses. She was an accomplished seamstress, crocheter, and embroiderer. She was always moving and walking a lot.
She lived most of her married life in Pocatello, where they lived in their last home for over 55 years. She worked in retail sales for many years, including the Peoples Store, Fargo's, Levines, and Gifts of Joy. She was a superb cook and baker and enjoyed sharing her DELICIOUS food. She described her full life in one word, "W-O-R-K!"
Reda was preceded in death by: her husband, Arnold Colin Jenkins; son, A. Paul Jenkins; one great-grandson; sister, Norene (Stan) Bunn; brother, Neal (Lydia) Benson; sister, Leah (Harmon) Johnson; and sister, Natalie (Lloyd) Kidman.
She is survived by: her daughter-in-law, Teresa Jenkins of Pocatello; son, Lyle (Julene) Jenkins of Utah; six grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Gladys (Bryant) Brady of Utah; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at 11 am in the LDS Fremont Ward, 135 S. 7th Ave. Family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm in the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello, and one hour prior to service. Interment will be in the Newton Cemetery, Newton, Utah.
