Welcome to the memorial page for

Norma Deane Campbell

April 13, 1932 ~ February 15, 2017 (age 84) 84 Years Old
Norma Deane Ivie Campbell, age 84, passed away at her home under the professional, loving care of her son Scott and the Encompass caregivers, nurses, and social workers—thank you so much! Norma was born at Chilly, ID to Lyle and Beulah Frandsen Ivie on April 13, 1932. She was the youngest of five children. They moved to Mackay, ID in 1941 where she attended grade school and graduated from Mackay High School in 1949. She spent a lot of time in the alfalfa and wheat fields with her Dad and was his best hired man throughout the summers.
She married Lewis Campbell, November 25, 1949, and two sons were born to this union: Scott Lewis and Gary Layne. They lived in Mackay until 1961 when they moved to Logan UT where Lew enrolled in Utah State and obtained his B.S. degree in Forest, Range and Wildlife Management.
Norma worked at the USU Office of Administration and Records for four years while Lew, Scott and Gary went to school. Those busy years were the answer to some long-term dreams. After graduation, this Forest Service career took them to Randolph, UT; Rock Springs, WY; Mountain City, NV; and Salmon, ID. They retired in Salmon where a good amount of time was spend on the Salmon River fishing for steelhead, floating the river, and enjoying the beautiful mountains and surrounding country and the wildlife. They moved to Preston, ID and finally to Chubbuck to be closer to their sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Norma loved fishing, dogs, rock hunting, photography, bird watching, gardening, camping, and anything to do with nature. She cherished her two boys and enjoyed all their activities throughout the years. She dearly loved her best friend, and their marriage was solemnized in the Logan Temple in 1994. She loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and fulfilled many church callings over the years.
She is survived by her son Scott (Marie) of Chubbuck, and her daughter-in-law Janice Reed Campbell of Salt Lake City, UT; grandchildren Craig (Kristen) of Layton, UT; Kimmarie (Shawn) Sayer and Trenton (Angelic) of Chubbuck, ID; and Terrence (Melissa) of Johnstown, CO; 21 great-grandchildren and many wonderful nieces, nephews, and friends; brothers Herschel and Don Ivie of Mackay, ID; and Dorothy (Jack) Conner of Jerome, ID.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her older sister Mary Devona, and her son Gary.
Services will be held Friday evening at 7pm in the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello, where family will receive friends one hour prior. Interment will be in the Chilly Idaho Pioneer Cemetery located about 20 miles NW of Mackay on the Trail Creek Road towards Sun Valley surrounded by her beloved Lost River and Pioneer Mountains, and a graveside service will be held later in the spring. In lieu of flowers, please make your donations to your favorite charity or to the LDS Perpetual Education Fund.
