Michael W. Proctor

Michael William Proctor born to William Nathan Proctor and Carma Barnes Proctor on July 29, 1946 in Preston Idaho, passed away October 6, 2018 at The Idaho State Veterans Home in Pocatello, Idaho with his family surrounding him.

Michael grew up in Downey Idaho attending Downey Elementary and Marsh Valley High School graduating in 1964. He attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake City, UT before joining the United States Army. He served two tours in Vietnam where he earned two bronze stars. After returning he met Darlene Morrison and they were married July 10, 1971 in Arimo, Idaho and sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on July 7, 2004.

He worked for a finance company in Pocatello and Boise before going to work for the State of Idaho, Department of Weights and Measures for 25 years.

Michael was the father of 3 sons who were the joy of his life. He loved going to their sporting events and other school programs and functions. He was pretty well known for pacing during all of the baseball games, which were many. He was always quick to brag on the boys and grandkids accomplishments.

Michael loved attending the temple, going to church and doing geneology work. He loved home teaching and worried up to the end if his people were doing okay.

Michael is survived by his wife Darlene, 3 sons Shayne Proctor (Jennifer), Rexburg, ID, Ryan Proctor, Charlotte, NC, Wayde Proctor, Pocatello, ID and his brother Ron (Patricia) Proctor, Fredricksburg, VA. Also surviving are the pride and joy of his life, grandchildren, Hunter Michael Proctor, Carson David Proctor, Brooklyn Marie Proctor, Kaylee Paige Proctor, John Michael Proctor, and Jephrey Shayne Proctor. Preceding him in death are his parents William and Carma Proctor, and Paul Proctor, brother.

The family would like to thank all the staff at the Veterans Home for their loving care of Michael. He loved the nurses and all the love and care they gave to him. Also thanks to the care from his PA at the VA Clinic, Keri DeLosReyes. He loved visiting with her. Thanks to Heritage Hospice and Care, Tammy, Cassie, Eric, Lanel and Patty for their compassion and care.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 10, at 11:00 am in the Alameda LDS 6th Ward, 930 E. Alameda, Pocatello. Family will receive friends from 6-8pm Tuesday in the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello, and one hour prior to services Wednesday.
