Lola Marie Short, 70, passed away June 14, 2018 in her home.
Marie was born July 6, 1947 in Kauai, Hawaii to Roy Cornelius and Lola Ricks Neukam. She was the middle child of five. The family moved to Nevada, then to Pocatello, when she was 9 years old. She attended Alameda Junior High, Irving Junior High, and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1965.
On December 7, 1968 Marie married the love of her life LaMont Warren Short, after a 4-month courtship and engagement. This December they would have celebrated 50 years. They were blessed with their first daughter Tiffany Marie in 1973, followed by Krista Dawn 4 years later.
Marie was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was by LaMont’s side as they created their very successful business Triple “A” Lawn Care. Marie worked several jobs and eventually retired from Rails West Credit Union where she was loved by many.
Some of Marie’s favorite pastimes included crafts, gardening, canning, camping, fishing with LaMont and spoiling her grandchildren.
Marie was proceeded in death by her father Roy Neukam; mother Lola Ricks Neukam Argenbright; stepfather Frank Argenbright; her father in law and mother in law, Grant and Zina Jolley Short, her siblings Irma Carlisle, Roy Neukam, and Arlene Short.
She is survived by her husband, LaMont Warren Short; daughters Tiffany Marie (Gabe) Petersen and Krista Dawn (Eric) Sessions; siblings Marion (Rick) Gummersall, Robert Neukam, and Karen Short Harper.
Nine grandchildren blessed her life; Brittany, Joshua, Brandon, Austin, Aaron, Kayla, Raynie, Gavin, and Gwendolynn. She also is loved by many nieces and nephews.
Marie wrote “Life has been a journey of joy for me and my family.”
Services will be held Monday, June 18, 2018 at 11am with a visitation one-hour prior in the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello. Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery, Pocatello, following the service. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.cornelisonfh.com
