Linda Mae Jones

August 4, 1950 ~ May 5, 2017 (age 66) 66 Years Old
Linda Mae Jones, 66, of Pocatello passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017, at home with loved ones by her side.
Linda was born on August 4, 1950, in Twin Falls, Idaho. She attended school in Buhl. On January 21, 1970, Linda married the love of her life and best friend, Randy Jones. They moved to Pocatello shortly thereafter and welcomed the birth of their first son, Jason. Two years later their second son, Ryan, joined the family.
Linda worked for Albertsons for 15 years. She then went to work for School District 25 driving school bus where she fell in love while driving the kids with special needs. One of her students referred to her as “bus Linda” and she loved that.
She enjoyed watching and supporting her boys in their different sporting events which eventually lead to following her grandchildren to their events. Linda loved spending time in Island Park at their cabin riding 4-wheelers and boating. She took pride in having the cleanest cabin in the forest!! Her family will miss her home cooked meals and Thanksgiving pies!
Her hobbies included gardening and yardwork, cooking for her family, cleaning (re-cleaning and then cleaning again) and most of all taking care of Randy. She taught her grandchildren to play checkers when they were young and wouldn’t let them cheat to win! It was a big deal when one of them would beat Grandma! Her grandchildren will always remember playing school, tickles, watching Survivor and Big Brother with Grandma.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Daisy Hopple, a sister Teresa, brothers-in-law Roy, Mick and Rick Jones, sisters-in-law Bonnie Lords and Donna McInelly.
She is survived by her loving husband, Randy, 2 sons, Jason Jones and Ryan Jones (Angie Jones); six grandchildren, Jarhett and Triston Jones; Zakary, Conner, Jaden and Brielle Jones; brother, Stormy (Holly) Hopple; sister-in-law Shirley Frost, sister-in-law Nola (Jerry) Hopkins, and many nieces and nephews.
Linda’s family would like to send a special thank-you to her many doctors and nurses who helped care for her over the past few years.
No public service will be held at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.cornelisonfh.com
