Ervin Tubbs

April 30, 1948 ~ August 21, 2017 (age 69) 69 Years Old
Ervin "Ernie" Tubbs, 69, Chubbuck, passed away, August 21, 2017.
Ervin Tubbs was born into this world on April 30, 1948 to the loving parents of Verl Albert Tubbs and Alta Ann Gleed Tubbs in Malad, Idaho being the 6th of 10 children. At a young age his family moved to the Wapello and Blackfoot area and he lived there into his teens. He later spent time in Mt. Home and the American Falls, Aberdeen area. In the early 70s he moved to the Pocatello and Chubbuck area, making it his permanent home.
Ervin always had a love for fast cars and pretty girls. Throughout his life he owned many classic muscle cars that he was very proud of and maintained meticulously. Over the years the cars would come and go but on June 21st 1975 Ervin married his one and only girl, the love of his life, Susie Henson in Elko, Nevada. Ervin truly adored Susie. He always looked forward to their Friday night dinner dates and they loved the time they spent together on their evening drives.
Ervin was a hard worker and great provider for his family, working long nights as a switch operator for the Simplot plant in Pocatello for 38 years. He wanted only the best for his family and would regularly work voluntary double shifts in order to give them the life he felt they deserved. After years of hard work and saving, Ervin and Susie were able to build a brand new 4 level home in Chubbuck. He was very proud of his house and was certainly the king of his castle.
Ervin and Susie were blessed with a beautiful daughter and handsome son, JeNeal Elissa Tubbs and Travis Cody Tubbs. JeNeal and Travis loved Ervin very much and couldn’t have asked for a better father. It was always important to Ervin to take his family on vacations and his children still hold very fond memories of the long summer road trips across the country.
After retirement Ervin spent a majority of his time maintaining his lawn, which was always perfectly manicured, weed free and the greenest in the neighborhood. After his yard work was done he’d make his daily trip to the café to enjoy a cup of coffee.
In the years leading up to his passing the time he spent with his granddaughters was greatly cherished by Ervin. He loved seeing them grow and play at fairs, zoos and carnivals and rarely escaped the gift shop with money in his wallet. He loved the girls very much and they were always excited to see him. His eyes would light up each time he saw them and they would always run to him for a big hug.
Ervin passed away at home and peacefully in his sleep on Monday August 21st 2017. At the same time the world went dark and people cheered the beautiful night sky of the solar eclipse, this beautiful man passed from this life to the next.
Ervin is survived by his loving wife Susie, daughter JeNeal (Brandon) Dalley, Travis (Asenath) Tubbs, Granddaughters Thanesa Tubbs, Dixie and Daisy Dalley. Siblings Vernon (Penny) Tubbs, Dena Tubbs, Delbert (Beth) Tubbs, Verla (Jim) Decker, & Lori (Jim) Neff, and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving Ervin are Wendy, and Desia. Preceding him in death are his parents, sisters Colleen and Roween, and brother Gerald (Jerry). Nephews Joshua Tubbs, and James (Willie) Neff and niece Luann Duncan. Daughters Christina and Tina.
