Christopher Joseph Jones, 60, passed away on December 29, 2019. Chris was born in San Pedro, California on June 22, 1959 to Rodney and Mary Jones and was 1 of 7 children. He leaves behind his siblings; Mary Hand (Joe), Suzanne Cortez (Bill), John Jones (Veronica), Jim Jones (Barb), Laura Roach (Will), and Patti Jones. Chris also leaves behind his three children; Ryan Christopher (Nicole), Matthew Joseph (Michelle), John James (Melissa), and his seven beautiful grandchildren; John, Sofia, Cole, Xavier, Teagan, Julian, and Addison. Other grieving loved ones include his significant other of 31 years, Kelly Allen, nieces, nephews, and first wife, Anna.
Chris grew up in San Diego, California in the Clairemont area. He attended James Madison Senior High. He was on the track team, played football and on staff for the school newspaper. Chris worked at General Dynamics and was a carpenter in the Union. He volunteered annually with Habitat for Humanity, building houses in Mexico. He also volunteered his time on the weekends cooking the pancake breakfast at the Rock Church in San Diego, CA. He was a highly intelligent and skillful man who enjoyed helping others. Chris especially loved his neighborhood walks. No matter where he lived, his neighbors became his friends. He enjoyed family dinners, fishing, watching basketball, baseball and football. He was a devoted Washington Redskins fan.
Chris lived in Pocatello, Idaho for the past five years. His pride and joy were his three sons and his beloved grandchildren. Chris will be greatly missed by many. He rests peacefully and is reunited with his mother and father - Family is Family is Family.
Memorial Service/Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm at Cornelison Funeral Home 431 N 15th Ave Pocatello, Idaho 83201. Reception to follow
