Bob Nestor Obituary
Bob Lavar Nestor, 67, of Inkom, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2018 surrounded by loving family and friends.
In accordance with his wishes, graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM May 18, 2018 at the Inkom Cemetery. Following the service, a celebration of life will be held at Bob and Cindy’s house at 1755 E. Nestor Rd. in Inkom. Arrangements are by Cornelison Funeral Home.
Bob was born to Howard and Wanona Nestor on April 19, 1951. He went to school at Inkom Elementary, Marsh Valley High School, and Idaho State University. He married Cindy Larson on September 5, 1969 in Pocatello. Bob worked for several years in various industries before establishing B&C Construction in 1973. Though a passionate and successful businessman, work was just a means to do the things he truly loved. Over the years Bob enjoyed skiing, riding dirt bikes, boating, scuba diving, and traveling, however his true passion was aviation. Bob held private, commercial, instrument, multi engine, and instructor ratings in fixed wing aircraft, and private, commercial, and instructor ratings in helicopters. His love for aviation led him to aerobatics and he performed in several air shows and aerobatic competitions in his Pitts bi-plane. After chartering a sail boat with a group of friends in 1998, Bob and Cindy fell in love with the ocean and in turn purchased their own boat. Over the next 15 years, they spent most of the winters sailing the Caribbean. Those that knew Bob would agree, that his life, passions, and accomplishments cannot be adequately conveyed using words. It is only the memories we have that can truly honor his life. We lost an amazing father, husband, grandfather, and last but not least, our best friend.
Bob is preceded in death by his father (Howard), mother (Wanona), stepfather (Ed Wheatley), grandparents Omer and Lola Nestor, grandparents Melvin and Rozella Mecham, and mother and father in-law Bob and Veda Larson.
Bob is survived by his wife Cindy, his son Bo (Amber) and his granddaughters Kaitlyn, and Adalyn or “Baby” as he affectionately nicknamed her, siblings Ray (Doris) Nestor, Tom (Kevin) Nestor, Jan (Rick) Larsen, along with a long list of loving family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Bob Dickerson, Larry Ellis, Carlo Wilson, Greg Stoltz, Bob Nicholls, and David Briggs, and substantial number of honorary friends and family too long to list.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a charity of choice in his memory.
The family of Bob wishes to extend our sincere appreciation to Dr. Mike Haderlie, Access Home Health, and the ICU nurses at Portneuf Medical Center.
