Ada May Hronek

September 11, 1924 ~ March 5, 2017 (age 92) 92 Years Old
May Hronek passed away at The Gables Assisted Living on March 5th, 2017. May was born September 11, 1924 in Pocatello, ID to Eda and Arvid Peterson. She was the youngest of five children.
On October 28, 1943 she married her high school sweetheart, Charles "Mick" Hronek in Hopkinsville, KY. Mick was in the US Army Air Force and May was lucky enough to stay with him on his tour of duty until he was sent overseas.
After being discharged from the service, Mick returned to Pocatello joining May and their 1st born daughter. Mick went to work for the UP Railroad and May became a stay-at-home mom to their four daughters: Kathleen, Judy, Debby and Cindy.
When Mick retired they traveled with the Good Sam’s Club, enjoying their trailer and spending winters in Apache Junction. They enjoyed several cruises and always enjoyed spending time with their daughters and their families. In December 2006, after 63 years of marriage, Mick passed away.
Mom was very social and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, playing cards with friends and going to Fort Hall Casino. Mom moved to Quail Ridge in 2011 and made many new friends. In 2015 she moved to the Gables to be closer to her daughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 4 siblings and 2 son-in-laws. She is survived by her four daughters, Kathleen Rakatansky, Judith Wright, Deborah Bott (Don), Cynthia Hronek (Mark Corgeit), 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Services for May will be at Cornelison Funeral Home on Saturday March 18th at 11 :00 am. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. Graveside will follow at Mt View Cemetery. We will conclude with a celebration of May's life at Rosewood Reception Center 1499 Bannock Highway.

As a family we wish to thank the staff at the Gables for their compassionate care of Mom. They truly loved her and she loved all of them. In lieu of flowers please consider donating in Mom’s name to the Youth Ranch or Aid for Friends.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.cornelisonfh.com
