Marianne Rita Payne, 61, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away on March 15, 2024, at the Caring Hearts Assisted Living facility in Pocatello.
She was born on January 30, 1963, in Idaho Falls to Marvin Richard Niccum and Rita Elizabeth Niccum. She lived in and attended schools in Idaho Falls, Pocatello, Nicaragua and Lafayette, California. She attended at ISU, but transferred and received her Bachelor of Science in Business at San Fransico State in 1988.
Marianne fell in love with Michael Jay Payne, and they married on February 23, 1991 in Walnut Creek, California. She worked in IT until she had her first daughter, Mary Rose in 1993, and became a home maker indefinitely when she had her second daughter, Angela in 1995. She had a fun-loving personality and stayed strong through life-altering family disability diagnoses, financial struggles, grieving her father, moving to three different states within a decade, and the sudden loss of her husband just after settling in Idaho Falls.
Sewing and guitar playing were her favorite hobbies, she also enjoyed classic rock, action and sci-fi media, painting, bears, cats, dogs, and the works of Leonardo Da Vinci. She excelled at organizing paperwork and keeping things running. She loved her husband more than life itself and loved her daughters and pets with all her heart.
She is survived by her daughters Mary Rose Payne and Angela Allynn Payne of Idaho Falls, and her older brother, Mike A. Niccum, of Monterey, California. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A private Celebration of Life/Wake will be held at her residence on Friday, March 29, 2024, at noon.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.cornelisonfh.com
