Suzan Gibson Phelps

Suzan Gibson Phelps, 60, Pocatello, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home July 9, 2016 of natural causes. She was born August 8, 1955 in Pocatello Idaho to Howard and Maurine Gibson. Suzan married Terrill Lane Phelps in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this loving union were born 2 children, Michelle and Michael. They were later divorced. She had a strong work ethic, and took pride in going the “extra mile” to help many. She was employed with ISU’s Financial Aid Department for over 20 years. Suzan possessed a balance of vulnerability and humbleness as well as strength and bravery. She was a daughter, sister, friend, mother, grandmother, and so much more. Suzan endured the death of her baby, Michael Lane Phelps. She leaves behind her parents, Howard and Maurine Gibson; siblings, Terry (Leone) Gibson, Gary (Sandra) Gibson, Karen (Steve) Farnsworth, and Kurt (Anita) Gibson; daughter, Michelle (Sean) Gordon; grandchildren, Nate, Jaron, Emily, and Ethan; best friend, Dianne Cottrell; dog, Benji; as well as nieces, nephews, and their children whom she loved. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 15 at 11:00 am in the Alameda LDS 2nd Ward, 954 E. Walnut St., Pocatello. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8pm in the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello, 232-0542, and one hour prior to services Friday.
