Sherman Sant

Sherman Sant JR, age 64, passed away at his home in Pocatello Idaho on February 16, 2015. Sherman was born June 8th, 1950 in Pocatello at the St. Anthony Hospital to Sherman and June Sant. He was the youngest of their five children, His siblings William, Julie, Sharon, and Dr. Larry V. Sant spoiled him silly.
   Sherman married Ramona Moser in April 1966 in Pocatello. They were married for 22 years and their children are Misty, Christy, and Terry Sant. He worked hard to give his family a good life and he loved to play with his children at home and on vacations. He was the dad that all their friends loved to be around because he was fun.
   Sherman learned to work at a young age in his parents trailer court. He learned plumbing skills from his Uncle Jerry and his older brother Bill. He worked at Rotor Rooter and later started his own plumbing business until he retired from it at the age of 64. He was an extremely hard worker, his work ethic was extrordinary, and his customers loved to see him and respected him. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
   Sherman later married Claudette Polfus in Elko Nevada October 1992 and resided in Pocatello. They were married for 22 years. Claudette became ill in 2014 and Sherman unselfishly devoted his life to be her full time caregiver. Everyone was proud of the way he took care of her. Sherman lost Claudette to her illness February 2 2015.
   Sherman is survived by his children Misty, Christy, Terry, and his grandchildren Tyler, Sierra, Tuff, and Casey, as well as his older sisters Julie Cox and Sharon Ranstrom. He was preceded in death by his parents Sherman W. Sant and June H. Sant, his wife Ramona Sant, his second wife Claudette Sant, his elder brother William Sant, and his elder brother Dr. Larry V. Sant.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 11:00 am in the LDS Ward, 2271 S. 4th Ave., Pocatello.  The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8 pm in the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello, 232-0542.  Interment will be in the Inkom Cemetery.
