Welcome to the memorial page for

Shanna Norwood

May 31, 1965 ~ January 9, 2015 (age 49) 49 Years Old

Shanna Leigh Norwood, age 49, joined her loved ones, who welcomed her in heaven on Friday, January 9th, 2015 at her home in Bellevue, Idaho.
Shanna was born to Bud and Jean Norwood on May 31st, 1965 in Pocatello, ID. She grew up at the base of Scout Mountain, where her love of animals and the outdoors began.  Shanna and her brother Buddy spent the majority of their time playing outside.  She loved telling stories of riding bikes up and down the ‘hill’ and working at Fraizer’s Egg Farm.  Running track was one of the accomplishments that she loved and was most proud of, especially running in the Simplot Games.  Shanna graduated from Pocatello High School in 1983 and later attended Idaho State University.
She married John Somsen Jr. in 1984 and from this marriage came a daughter Amanda on December 5th, 1985. They were later divorced.
She then married Mike Walsh in 1988 and they welcomed a son, Michael on July 8th, 1989. They were later divorced.
The family moved to the Burley area in 1989, where they resided for 17 years. Shanna was gifted at many things, but excelled at sales and especially enjoyed working with people. She loved serving the community as business manager at the Mini-Cassia Chamber of Commerce.
She looked forward to the weekends where the family would go to one of their favorite camping and fishing spots. She was also very talented at floral design and enjoyed making arrangements for family and friends. She fell in love with water after becoming a certified diver and treasured her stories of underwater pumpkin carving.
Shanna is survived by her loving fiancee,  Carlos Weissmuller; her children, Amanda (Jeremy) Miller and Michael (Brittany) Walsh; grandchildren, Kylee and Riley Miller; brother Robert “Buddy” Norwood; sister Robin Summerhays; her life-long friend Diane Bell and many family and friends that will always adore her.
She was preceded by her parents, grandparents and loved ones, who welcomed her at the heavenly gates.
Mom, your contagious smile, zest for life and compassionate heart will always be missed.  We love you so much and will carry you with us always.
Thanks to all of those that have been a support to us during this difficult time.
