Sandra J. Petersen

Sandra Jean Petersen "Sandy", 57, of Pocatello, passed away in her home Friday, February 9, from a heart attack.
Sandy was born February 10, 1960 in Lancaster, CA, to happy parents E.A. "Jake" and Norma Jacobson. The family moved to Pocatello, where Sandy grew up, attending Alameda and Poky High. There, she met the love of her life, Rick L. Petersen, and they married June 29,1979. She enjoyed crafts, photography, horror stories, and watching sports. Sandy attended the Grange and volunteered at the Senior Center. In years past, she enjoyed singing in Sweet Adelines with her mother-in-law Lenore Petersen.
Sandy was a hippie at heart and an inspiration to younger girls; they thought she was very cool, and the attention she paid them made them feel cool, too. Her smile, kindness, and humor brightened the days of all who met her. She will be deeply missed.
Sandy was preceded in death by her beloved Rick and parents Jake and Norma; now they have a joyful reunion. She is survived by her brother Stephen and by many loving in-laws, aunts, cousins, and friends.
There is no public service at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
