Merlene "Mickey" G. Cutler

Merlene "Mickey" Gilbert Cutler, 83, passed away on September 19, 2015 in Meridian, Idaho. She was surrounded by her loving daughters as she slipped peacefully away. Mickey was born on April 9, 1932 in Fairview, Idaho to Hazen and Naomi Gilbert. She grew up in the Preston/Fairview area and graduated from Preston High School in 1950. In 1951 Mickey married Clair Riley Cutler. They were blessed with four children: Riley, Marian, Janet, and Amy. Mickey and Clair were later divorced. Mickey was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She made friends every where she went and had a knack for making people feel good. She worked for many years as a receptionist at the Pocatello Children and Adolescent Clinic where she forged lasting friendships with her employers, fellow employees, and many of the patients she helped. Mickey had many interests. She had a love of learning that continued throughout her life. She attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake City and the Canal Zone Junior College in Panama (where she lived for 3 years). She often took history classes and read books about history. Mickey enjoyed golfing, running, going to the symphony, and outdoor adventures with her family and friends. Her hands were always busy making something for someone. Mickey is survived by her children, Riley Cutler (Sharon), Marian C.Isaacson ( Ken ), Janet Rhodenbaugh ( Dave ), Amy Cutler, 18 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 11:00 in the Cedar Hills LDS Ward (5425 Bannock Highway, Pocatello) where family will recieve friends one hour prior. Internment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, near Preston, Idaho. In lieu of flowers please donate to the cost of Mickey's monument.
