MarJean Geisler

MarJean Vaterlaus Geisler, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on 15 April 2015 of natural causes while attended by her family.
She was born 24 May 1929 in Fishaven, Idaho, to John Christoff and Lisle Vaterlaus. She married Don L Geisler in the Logan Temple 4 February 1948. They have 6 children, 22 grandchildren, and 45 great grandchildren with two more great grandchildren arriving soon.
She enjoyed her handiwork of sewing, creating costumes for her children’s performances in roller skating and dance, crocheting, knitting and quilting, but was proudest of her handiwork nurturing her descendants.
She was active in her church and worked in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple for 15 years.  She was Relief Society President, Primary President, and devoted visiting teacher. She served in the Relief Society for Monte Vista Nursing Home as long as she was able, and helped the elderly throughout her life. She and her husband served a service mission in the Idaho Pocatello mission office.
Her civic duties were met by her proud service with the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, as a voting clerk for many years, and as a teacher’s aid and volunteer at Green Acres Elementary School.
She is survived by her children LoaLee Hatch (Darren), Franklin, ID; Beckie Watts (Steve), Orem, UT; Jeff Geisler (Marla Stegen), Salt Lake City, UT; Jill Hansen (Terry), Alpine, UT; Amy Lemmon (Doran) Chubbuck, ID; and Ryan Geisler (Lori) Saratoga Springs, UT. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, her parents, and her brother Carl Vaterlaus.
Funeral Services will be held, Monday, April 20, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Alameda L.D.S. Second Ward, corner of Walnut and Jefferson Streets in Pocatello, with Bishop Lane Anglesey conducting.  The family will receive friends at the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello from 6-8 pm Sunday evening, and from 10-10:45 am on Monday at the Church.  Interment will be in the Riverdale Cemetery near Preston at 3:00 pm.
