Lola Mae Jenkins

Lola Mae Jenkins, 82, Chubbuck, Passed away April 24, 2018 at a local medical center. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 4, 2018 at 11 am with family viewing one hour prior, in the LDS 44th Ward at US Hwy. 91 (between Reservation and Ballard). Family will receive friends Thursday May 3rd from 6-8 pm in the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello.
Lola was born, the second of five children, May 7,1935 in Lewisville Idaho, to Melba and Heber Hancock. She spent a lot of her childhood in the Lewisville area. Lola started school in the Lewisville but, had to continue her education in Pocatello. However, she never quite finished High School because she fell in love with Sterling Jenkins and they married September 15,1953.
Her first born was Kent in 1956, Lola Marie was born in 1961 and passed four hour later. Then along came Connie in 1964. They spent most of their lives I the southeast Idaho area.
Lola loved the great outdoors, camping, fishing and working in her gardens, vegetable or flower. Among some of her other interests were sewing, baking and crafts of all kinds. She was always helping others and just being a good friend.
Lola didn't start work outside the home until the early 70's, when she started work as a cook's helper at the Green Triangle. This lasted until a position became available as a cook helper at Farmers Insurance. She held several positions at Farmers Insurance until her retirement.
Lola developed cancer in 2009 and fought a long hard battle, until this past week. Through all her struggles she remained dedicated to friends and family.
Lola was preceded in death by her parents Melba and Heber Hancock, Husband Sterling Jenkins, Brother Mark Hancock, Brother Lorin Hancock, Brother Ronald Hancock, Sister in law Carol Hancock, Sister in law Toni Wartenweiler Hancock, Nephew Kelly Hancock, and Great Nephew Mark Hancock. Numerous Aunts Uncles and cousins.
Lola is survived by: her brother, Scott Hancock; sister-in-law, Carolyn Hancock; sister-in-law, Louis Hancock; son and daughter-in-law, Kent and Karrie Jenkins; daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Joseph Bishop; seven grandchildren, Martin, Joseph James, Demi, Chanda, Aaron, Christopher and Korri; seven great-grandchildren, ChaAnn, Auston, Anthony, Adaen, Emma, Paisley, and Easton; one great-great-grandchild, Oaklee, and one on the way, Weston; and one ex-grand-child, Mike.
