Lillian Joan Winter

Lillian Joan Jones Winter, 82, Pocatello Idaho, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2016, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Joan was born November 15, 1933 at American Falls, Idaho, to Lillian Snow and Robert C. Jones. Joan was raised by her mother and step-father George Albert “Dick” Slaugh in Aberdeen, Idaho. She graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1951. She married the love of her life, Robert Leroy Winter, October 1, 1951. Joan was a lifetime member of the LDS church. She enjoyed doing crafts, reading books, cooking, and most of all, spending time with her family members and friends. She was loved by everyone who had the privilege of meeting her. She had a genuine, caring personality that touched people instantly, and a sense of humor that could brighten up any room. Joan is survived by her children, Robert Winter, Dee Ann Brammer, and Russell (Sandy) Winter; her grandchildren, August (Tess) Winter, Nathaniel (Kenzie) Winter, Charissa Brammer, Ryan (Holly) Winter, Brandon (Nicole) Winter, Kali (Miguel) Luna, and Alyssa (Jim) Banta; seven great-grandchildren; and Vicki Jones; Karon Thompson; and many other nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert Leroy Winter; her mother Lillian Snow Slaugh; her father Robert Caldwell Jones; her step-father Dick Slaugh; her father-in-law Ted Winter; her mother-in-law Susie Winter; her brothers Robert Jones and Dwain Jones and his wife Glenda; her sister Eleanor Moss and her husband, Gary; her brother-in-law, Jim Williams; her sister-in-law Virginia (Ginny) Hansen and her husband Don. Graveside service celebrating her life will be held Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 11am in the Mountain View Cemetery, Section 43 East, 1520 S.5th Ave., Pocatello Idaho.
