John Edward Fisher, 87, passed away Dec. 4, 2016 following an extended illness. He was born April 1, 1929 to Harry Edward Fisher (Chamois, Missouri) and Mabel Anderson (Rockland, ID). He was predeceased in death by his parents, sister, Mabel Elaine Ray, wife, Anita Bain Fisher and son, Paul Edward Fisher.
John graduated from Pocatello High School and attended classes at Idaho State University. He married Bonnie Jean Ross in 1949 with whom he had four daughters and one son. He later married Anita in Jackson, WY in 1987.
He was employed at Garrett Freightlines for fifteen years as an Office Account Manager, joining Kraft Co. as a Quality Control Manager in 1964, retiring in 1989.
John enjoyed gardening with wife Anita and was featured in the Idaho State Journal for his award-winning rose gardens and beautiful yard. He and Anita loved searching yard sales which enabled him the opportunity to find varied pieces of furniture to refinish. John loved watching sports on television but especially loved watching the football, baseball and soccer games of his step sons and grandsons.
John is survived by four daughters: Debra L. Haire (Steven), Chandler, AZ; Ann L. Cuoio, (Greg), Lacey, WA; Teresa Dudunake (Deno), Northampton, MA; and Hollie J. Grassman, Missoula, MT. and three step sons: Randy Forrest, Omaha, NE; Gregg Forrest (Tamara), Pocatello, ID and Johnnie Forrest (Merriann), Pocatello ID. John also is survived by 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 14, at 11:00 am in the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello, 232-0542, where family will receive friends one hour prior. Interment will be in the Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Pocatello.
Reception to follow at the Rosewood Reception Center, 1499 Bannock Highway Pocatello.
