Grace Elva Read

Grace Elva Neeley Read, 87, passed away Saturday, October 22,2016 at Ashley Manor in Pocatello.
She was born January 10, 1929 in Logan, Utah to Ezra and Elva Hansen Neeley. Grace married James William Read on December 15,1950 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They were later divorced. Through this marriage they had three children, James (Jay) Lee Read, Sheila Marie Stone and Edwin (Ed) William Read.
Grace was an active member in the LDS church. She served in many callings in the church and thoroughly enjoyed all of them. Grace loved attending church and fulfilling her callings. She worked at Chubbuck Elementary for many years as a classroom aide. Grace had a special place in her heart for children. She opened her home to many children as she babysat all he grandchildren and her friends children. She had a special talent for knitting and knitted Christmas stockings. She also loved to make calendars out of plastic canvas. Many people love and enjoy the many gifts she would make for them. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her.
Grace is survived by two of her children Sheila Stone (Lew) of Roy, Utah. And Edwin Read (Shelley) of Pocatello. 7 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son James (Jay) Read, her parents and a brother Floyd and sister Nina Jean.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 26 at 11 am in the LDS Ward 1440 Lakeview Dr., Pocatello. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Tuesday evening in the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello, 232-0542, and from 10-10:45 am Wednesday at the church.
