George York

George York, 74, Pocatello, peacefully moved on to a new adventure with his family by his side, Wednesday, June 17, 2015.  
George was born to Alex and Beatrice Allred York in Pocatello, May 16, 1941.  He graduated from Pocatello High School in 1960.  He met the love of his life, Marjorie Leigh Ellis. They married and spent 51 plus years together and raised 2 sons.  He worked several places; Sunset Drive-in, Starlite Cinemas, Challenge Creamery, FMC, completed 31 years in the military and Idaho Army National Guard attaining the rank of E7, and 15 years for the City of Pocatello Street Dept.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gold panning, surviving family adventures, and being with family, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by; his parents, Alex and Beatrice Allred York; his sister, Loretta York; beloved wife, Leigh York; and Grandson, Jonathan York.
He is survived by; a sister, Jane Nelson (Nile Nelson); sons, Eric York (Julie York), Lonny York (Karen Wall), grandchildren, Ryan and Abigail York; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He will be dearly missed.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 22, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello, 232-0542.  Family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7-8 pm and one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.  Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery, Pocatello with military rites.  Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.cornelisonfh.com.
