Edgar Guy Perry Jr, 77, Pocatello, passed away, August 25, 2016 at a local medical center.
He was born April 5, 1939 at McCammon, Idaho to Edgar Guy Perry Sr. and Hazel A. Crabtree Perry. He attended Emerson Elementary, Irving Junior High and graduated from Pocatello High School in 1959. Guy joined the U.S. Air Force September 20, 1960. He served basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas, then transferred to Chanute Air Force Base, Rantoul, Illinois, and then transferred to Edwards Air Force Base, California, where he was honorably discharged on June 19, 1964.
On June 23, 1964, Guy hired on with the Union Pacific Railroad until laid-off. He worked for FMC from 1968-1971. He rehired to the Railroad in 1971 where he stayed until he retired April 7, 2001.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, snow shoeing, and ATV-ing.
Guy married the love of his life, Rose Tillotson (Perry). He is survived by wife and son, Walter. Guy was preceded in death by his father and mother. Guy was a loving husband and father and a dear friend and will be sorely missed.
The family would like to thank the staff of Lincare, the staff of Encompass, and any and all of Portneuf Medical Staff that cared for Guy during his many visits to the hospital.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 31, at 11:00 am in the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello, 232-0542, where family will receive friends one hour prior. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, Pocatello, with military graveside rites. Condolences at www.cornelisonfh.com
