Douglas Wayne Parker, 69, Chubbuck, passed away, Thursday evening, April 28, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born September 2, 1946 in Rupert, Idaho to Delbert H. and Clara Elizabeth Parker. He attended schools in Acequia and Rupert graduating from Minico High School. Douglas spent 4 years in the United States Navy serving aboard the U.S.S. Repose and on the U.S.S. Catskill in the Tonkin Gulf during the Vietnam War. Douglas married Sylvia Ann Parker, March 29, 1968 in the Idaho Falls Temple. He worked as an electrician. Many homes and businesses in Pocatello were wired by him and the many men who worked for him. He loved his work. Douglas was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many positions including Bishop. Douglas is survived by his wife, Sylvia of Chubbuck; two sons, Tony (Stephanie) Parker, Williston, North Dakota, and JR. Conica, Rigby, Idaho; one daughter, Tasha (Michael) Christensen, Highland Ranch, Colorado; eleven grandchildren; three brothers, Steve (Gayleen) Parker, Ririe, Idaho, Dennis Parker, Rupert, Idaho, Allan (MaRee) Parker, Rock Springs, Wyoming: five sisters, Karen Walker, Bellevue, Washington, Maretta Parker, Bountiful, Utah, Laura Lea Carlisle (Kay), Boise, Idaho, Janet Greenwell (James), Park City, Utah, Gina Waddell (Charles), Meridian, Idaho. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. in the Paradise LDS Ward, corner of Bringhurst and Yellowstone in Chubbuck, with Bishop Clay McKee, Conducting. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-8 pm in the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 North 15th Ave., Pocatello and from 10:00 to 10:45 am on Tuesday at the Church prior to the services. Interment will follow services at Mountain View Cemetery, Pocatello, with military graveside rites by the Pocatello Veterans Honor Guard.
